American Environmental Society, LLC
Individual Members of AES are conferred any of professional credentials below. The conferring of professional credentials is based on the attainment of the required bachelor’s/baccalaureate (or its equivalent for those who studied outside the United States) academic degrees in a discipline of engineering, science, law, management or other environmentally relevant areas and the fulfillment of the minimum number of years of relevant work experience and not on the passing of a standardized written and/or oral examination. Achievement of advanced degrees in any relevant field (e.g., engineering, science, health, management, business, law, etc.) and/or the successful operation of an environmentally-oriented company as owner, partner, CEO, president, etc., for at least five years will be counted as the equivalent of additional years of relevant experience. Credentials are conferred regardless of country of residence as long as the requirements are met. A Student Member (SEnvA)TM is not conferred any professional designation for obvious reasons. SEnvATM is not a professional designation. It is a membership type identification to distinguish it from the others below which are not only membership type identifications but also professional designations/credentials/titles.
Outstanding members and non-members of AES who have demonstrated commendable environmental practice through many years of exemplary service and/or meritorious/exceptional contribution to environmental education and promotion, understanding, management, and preservation and protection of the environment are recognized with a distinctive award.
